New festival in Downtown Rockport

Rockport Film Festival and Art Walk Nov. 8-11

ROCKPORT – Films, films and more films is what you will see at the inaugural Rockport Film Festival and Art Walk to be held on Thursday, Nov. 8 through Sunday, Nov. 11.  Viewing will be held at Main Street Arts, located at  902 E. Main  in Downtown Rockport.

The festival will provide a charming and relaxing venue for independent filmmakers to share their creative vision with an enthusiastic and welcoming audience of the Texas Coastal Bend.  More than  50 films from around the world will be shown during the four day event.

Festival attendees will explore and celebrate the power of cinema to amuse and provoke, to touch our hearts, to plumb our souls, to shed new light on our world, and to create and celebrate new possibilities for living and being with one another and to entertain.

In addition to attending the Film Festival, visitors will have the opportunity to explore Rockport’s arts and cultural community with an Art Walk.  More than 15 art galleries, as well as the Rockport Center for the Arts, will be showcasing a wide array of work from local and regional artists.

The festival is sponsored by the Rockport Rotary Club together with the Heritage District and Art Galleries of downtown Rockport and the Rockport Center for the Arts. All the proceeds from the event will be for the local, regional and international humanitarian and service projects supported by the Rockport Rotary Club.

Tickets are available online at www.rockportfilmfest.com,  at the Chamber of Commerce or at the door. Prices for a day pass are $20 which includes light food and beverages.
