International in scope but local in flavor,

the Rockport Film Festival's mission is to celebrate the power of cinema on the Texas Coast. The festival provides a venue for independent filmmaking to be seen, heard and discussed in one of America's top 10 coastal art colonies. A partnership between Rockport Center for the Arts and the Rockport Rotary Club, both cultural creativity and humanitarian collaboration are covered by the Rockport Film Festival.

The selected films will be presented in 'blocks' of films. Each block will contain some short films and at least one feature. We try to have each block show a variety.

The blocks for 2008 will be Thursday Evening, Thursday Late Night, Friday Matinee, Friday Evening, Friday Late Night, Saturday Matinee, Saturday Evening, and Saturday Late Night.

The All Festival Pass will admit one person to any and all blocks they want to view.

The Block Pass will admit one person to one block of films.

We are a Rockport, TX film festival that is within easy driving distance of San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Victoria, Corpus Christi, Goliad, Refugio, Tivoli, Port Lavaca, Sinton, Beeville, Aransas Pass, Portland, Port Aransas, McAllen, South Texas, Hill Country and Coastal Bend. We encourage several aspects of the film community to join us for the 2008 Rockport Film Festival - amateur film, cinema, critic, director, and independent filmmakers. Whatever you call your films - flicks, indie, cinema, cine, theater, pictures - come visit our competition and festival. The 2008 Rockport Film Festival will provide a charming and relaxing venue for independent filmmakers to share their creative vision with an enthusiastic and welcoming audience of the Texas Coastal Bend.
